The Royal Marines are Coming to Bath quickly followed by Father Christmas

The Bath Fireworks display this year made a profit of over £18000 and provided a memorable spectacle for the 7500 people who attended. (many thousands more watched from outside of the ground but contributed to the profit as a result of our army of collectors). Thanks must go the the Bath Building Society which has been sponsoring this event for 39 years.

Friday 28th November, The Royal Marine Band HMS Collingwood with it’s Director of music Major Pete Curtis MBE Royal Marines is putting on a Christmas Concert in Bath Forum. This concert has been organised by the three Bath Rotary clubs and is to raise funds for the RM and RN Charity and Friends of Young Carers, Bath.
This is a return visit to this venue for Major Pete who was born, and educated in Bath and took his first steps in his distinguished musical career at the Salvation Army Citadel, Green Park, Bath.
There still some tickets available which can be purchased at the Bath Box Office, and the Forum Box Office and they will even be for sale on the night at the door. The principle sponsor for this event is Rotork, an international company created in Bath, and 20 other local companies are also providing financial support.
Having seen the programme of music for the evening, we are assured of a varied, and decidedly entertaining musical evening which will show leanings towards Christmas but will not be dominated by that theme.

While organising this concert we have also been getting ready for our Father Christmas Collection which is looked forward to by residents and visitors of all ages.

In the middle of this we are managing, in conjunction with our local newspaper, the Annual Carol Service in Bath Abbey on 16th December which is always a sell out, partly because tickets are free, but mostly because it provides such a Christmas focus for the community and especially the lonely and disabled who we gather up and take to the event.

As you can see we look forward to Christmas Day as an occasion to rest and recover our strength for 2015 events.

Happy Christmas to all in District 1200
