This weeks business meeting was as lively as ever, and the presentation of the clubs Trust (charity) account was a time for amazement and self congratulation. The figures showed that in the last Rotary year the club raised £103,000 and distributed £95,000 to a whole range of charities for amounts ranging from £500 to £30,000. The majority of this went to local charities where the donations would have a significant effect. Recognizing that this was a slightly unusual year, we were reminded that we must not become fixated on improving our fund raising year on year but on providing the best service to the community while having fun. Many of our important activities cost and don’t raise funds. However, the figures quoted above will have made real differences to the lives of many.
Rotary Club of Bath has had another extraordinary year.
