Together, when the call comes, we will be ready
In the last two weeks we have been able, despite Covid-19 restrictions, to answer the request for aid in the Yemen and Syria. Sending a total of 400 boxes to two of today’s worst humanitarian crises.
This is quite an achievement for a small Rotary Club charity who rely on volunteers to pack boxes and you, our donors, to help provide the funds to pay for the contents of each box.
In the English language there are a number of sayings used to illustrate a situation or moment in time. So, when we use the saying “A Stitch in Time” coupled with “A Picture is better than 1000 words” to draw attention to our present situation, you will understand our need to take action now before a new crisis is identified. With the departure of the last two consignments ‘the WSB cupboard is bare’ and this is a request to help us to fill a void.
For right now our shelves are empty, our boxes are en route and volunteer packing sessions are being scheduled, for we know a new call for action will come and we need to be prepared.
If you, your club, or organisation would like to be a part of our story, go to our donation page for together we can make a huge difference to the lives of families displaced by natural or manmade disaster. Also if your members would like to know more about our project we would be happy to make a presentation via Zoom or face to face when allowed.
